“Fragments of Desire”

This body of work explores sensuality, perception, and the complexities of the female form through reconstructed imagery and layered visual composition. Using photographs of classical sculptural fragments as source material, the works transform intimate details into large-scale mosaics that simultaneously conceal and reveal the body — challenging the viewer to reconsider what they are looking at, and why.

By isolating and reassembling elements traditionally associated with objectification and desire, the pieces shift the gaze away from passive consumption and towards deeper observation and interpretation. The female form becomes both image and illusion: fragmented yet whole, vulnerable yet powerful, familiar yet abstracted beyond immediate recognition.

The collection examines how bodies are viewed, experienced, and projected onto through cultural perception, memory, intimacy, and expectation. Through repetition, abstraction, and unexpected composition, the work creates tension between attraction and discomfort, beauty and provocation, presence and anonymity.

Rather than presenting a fixed statement, the works invite confrontation with personal perception itself — encouraging viewers to question the narratives, assumptions and emotional responses they bring to the act of looking. In doing so, intimacy, vulnerability, and sensuality are transformed into spaces for reflection, dialogue, and reinterpretation.
